High Tides, Good Vibes..............

It was 6 a.m., Saturday morning. I uncovered my face slowly and reluctantly. I was still half asleep. Blinking my eyes, closing it and then again blinking. Streaks of sunlight penetrate the window and come into my eyes. I get up immediately, drag my feet off the bed, and rub my knuckles into my eyes. I stretch my arms above my head and yawn. I walk towards the curtain; the brilliance of the sunlight is warm reflecting a glitter to the end of my eyelashes. This allows my eyes to rest so that when I pretend to be asleep, I can see the powerful rays. It's a kind of light that comes all year round, lighting summer meadows.  I wish there was a word for the feeling it brings, for now, I’m calling it, ‘sun joy.’ I felt so cozy and relaxed that I didn't feel like doing anything. I saw the time it was 6:30 AM, I lied down again and checked my Instagram. While scrolling pictures on Instagram I suddenly saw the beautiful beach, it was the Devonport beach. My heart started beating and I wished to go there, but because I had less cash, I had to wait for the paycheck to arrive then only it will be possible for me to travel there. I always felt I would not be able to go there but coincidentally my friend happened to call me and tell me about the same place. Well, we both were out of money, but we still decided to go out and explore Auckland. This was supposed to be a big change for me, despite struggling with despair, sadness, loneliness and my life issues, I decided today to free my worries and enjoy the sunshine.

Sweet like Saturday morning.

9:00 am
My friend and I decided to meet at Albert Street at 10:00 a.m. I walked down to the constellation bus station from my house and saw that it was completely overcrowded. I noticed the crowd had a life of their own, the bright clothes were sparkling in the morning light, and the people were moving like enchanting fish shoals. The bus was supposed to arrive at 9:30 am, but it arrived a few minutes late at 9:45 am. All the passengers boarded the bus, chattering with excitement, some in English and some in their own language. Others sat quietly and enjoyed their music while looking out of the window. A few had buried themselves in their guides, memorizing where to go. After a couple of hours, I finally arrived at my destination and saw that my friend was already waiting there for me.

11:00 am
We both headed towards the ferry station. There were a lot of crowds, a river of people moving in one direction. All in their own hurry. There were only joyful faces as we headed towards the ferry. We all moved not like pebbles in a jar but like water molecules flowing smoothly past one another. The moment we reached the ferry it was so large like the train and airplane, seats with the TV screen. My friend and I decided to sit outside. The view from the ferry was so beautiful. I closed my eyes to the lullaby of the ocean, breathing in its poignant salty breath. The ocean breeze whisper like a lover, placing salty kisses on my cheek and tousling my long auburn hair. I stood there happy and contended.

Devonport

The day was going perfect. I and my friend took pictures, played games and had snacks. After a few hours, we arrived at our most awaited destination “THE DEVONPORT”. I could see the waves dancing, bouncing on the ocean floor and I could also hear the birds sing, I could experience the smell of the fresh air in abundance. The Devonport is such a beautiful and quiet place that it soothes my soul by looking at its beauty. I enjoyed myself, no concerns, no stress.

Nothing but good vibes and blue sky!!

My friend and I went ahead and started exploring the food street because we were really hungry. The street was full of amazing restaurants and cafes. We were totally mad by the smell of coffee. One of my favorite corners of heaven, Correlie's café.

Inhale the caffeine, exhale the negativity.
It's where you can hear the chattering chefs from the tables, laughing and teasing, or maybe singing out loud and out of tune. The food was delicious. The day was spent wonderfully. We had our breakfast together and then hurried to the beach.

A short stack of waffles and sweet.

2:00 p.m.
The beach looked so beautiful and so calm and the sun was shining bright. The sand looked clean like sugar spread out for miles, as it squished between our toe. The waves crashed into one another, the breeze blowing from the tide, the smell of the salty ocean and the sticky air.

The beach: where doing absolutely nothing is doing something.

I and my friend sat there quietly, click some pictures, played games and slept for a while. We had the radio on our favorite channel, and the music was loud. We both were lost in the music and the beauty of the sea.  We walked close to the sea after a few minutes, dug our feet under the warm coarse-grained sand and wrapped our toes around it as we sat quietly near the ocean shore. It was warm, summer afternoon. The sun smiled at us as we sat on the warm, moderate sand; the bright sun gleamed like tiny crystals over the water as the monstrous waves peaked and crashed with loud, swinging sounds into each other. The shore was surrounded by the foam and bubbles from the rumbling waves, while pieces of seaweed and algae were disposed of from their freezing skin. It even reached out sometimes and washed away viciously sandcastles that kids playfully built along the shoreline. Around the amazing beach, people of all the ages set themselves out for an incredible afternoon, as they ran around in their swimsuits, danced to fast-beat music and sunbathed peacefully on the tan-colored sand. Although the water seemed a bit too chilly to swim, I and my friend decided to give it a  try, at first, we hesitated, but soon adjusted to the coldness and pursued our fun, sprinkling the seawater on our numbing bodies. We went on an enjoyable afternoon playing endless volleyball games. It was a great day in the end.

By this trip, we learned a lesson that you can enjoy your life if you really want to in any situation. It does not really matter that you should have a lot of money or expensive cars, if you really want to do something then you can even do that in less. There are many people who believe that if you have money then only you can be happy. This is not true. You can remain happy in any way if you have the will to. Money certainly helps but it is really not a pre-requisite for happiness. We are chasing so much after money that we have forgotten to enjoy the special little moments in our life. The purpose of life is to live it, to taste the experience to the full, to reach out with eagerness and without fear for a unique and rich experience.

Well, this was my beach journey, how you spend your day on a beach, let me know on the comment box :D
