My Sunday Funday at Takapuna Beach

Finally, Sunday has arrived.  No work, no university, no office today. It’s a me-time. Sitting on a beach in the shade of the sun with a chocolate ice-cream cone in hand and some other healthy smoothies in the other, along with my best friend that is my laptop.

You are the Ben to my Jerry's!

It's the greatest Sunday I've ever had all my life. I lay down on the grass after getting some smoothies and ice-cream and looked at the people, children, dogs, but when I looked at the ocean, it grabbed my full attention. It's like I can call Takapuna Beach my second home. Somewhere between soaking up the sand, late-night drives, and seeing the water at its roughest and quietest. I've learned some precious life lessons from the ocean.

I lost my heart to the sea.

Standing at the beach, looking at the wild and angry ocean currents moving towards me, I saw life — always changing, aggressive, relentless, yet silent. Like the sea, sometimes life is calm. But when it intends to deliver its teachings, it can also be wild and ruthless. Not only that, but I also learned:

To Go With The Flow….

I went through a lot of stuff last month. Nobody has any idea what I've endured. I was confronted with economic problems, work problems and problems with my landlord. But I feel somewhat relaxed when I look at the ocean today, it soothes my soul. Just like the ocean, life can be more difficult to navigate, particularly when facing many barriers. A good captain with a strong grip on the wheel will stand at the helm of their vessel and trust in the wind to take the sails and guide the ship to its next destination.

High tides, good vibes.

Never Get Tide Down....

Just as the ocean has enormous tides be it high or low tides, life too is filled with many ups and downs. And what I realized was nice to be humble at your heights and it is important to remain confident and optimistic at your lows. Whether an individual finds happiness in a time of happiness or a moment of sadness in knowing that tomorrow is always a fresh day and a chance for a fresh adventure.

Ride your own way.

And it may not be possible to put into words the biggest lesson I have ever learned from the ocean. It can be felt, however, when standing on the edge of the water, toes in the sand and hair in the breeze, looking out to the expanding horizon, allowing worries to drift out into the sea and breathing in life in one of its raw forms. Time stands still in that moment – the sea makes it all better.

So, that's how my day was! ðŸ˜Š

Hope you enjoyed my story.

  2. Summer Holiday
    Song by Cliff Richard
We're all going on a summer holiday
No more working for a week or two.
Fun and laughter on our summer holiday,
No more worries for me or you,
    For a week or two.
We're going where the sun shines brightly
We're going where the sea is blue.
We've all seen it on the movies,
Now let's see if it's true.
    Everybody has a summer holiday
Doin' things they always wanted to
So we're going on a summer holiday,
To make our dreams come true
    For me and you.
    For me and you
